1960s Oatmeal Linen Textured Linen Work Dress

1960s Oatmeal Linen Textured Linen Work Dress

This is a beautifully finished 1960s textured linen work dress in a light cream oatmeal shade. It tapers from the bust to the waist in a classic 60s shift shape and flows down into a pencil silhouette. The rounded neckline and shoulder straps are trimmed with a plain linen border, while the main fabric is embroidered with a contrasting shade of cream thread in swirling, geometric flower like patterns. The dress is lined with a panel at the front in a silk-feel fabric, and fastens with the original zip closure at the back. The pockets (perhaps its best feature!) are finished with a bow detail on both the right and left hand sides.

The dress is in truly excellent vintage condition and looks barely worn with no faults. Although it has no label, it has been very well made for most likely, a high end department store in the US. It would best suit a UK 10 or 6 US. Our model is a UK 8-10 and 5ft 11in. (180cm) and this dress was a snug fit.
