Siah Howard 'La Femme' Black and Rose Gold Swimsuit and Cover-Up
Siah Howard is a haute couture fashion label established in London in 2017. An eveningwear and wedding dress specialist, Howard’s fantastical designs are elaborate, elevated and otherworldly. This incredible couture-crafted ensemble was created as part of the designer’s whimsical ‘Le Femme’ collection and the fabric featured prominently throughout. The bodysuit was worn by actor Georgia Mayfoote in the 2019 short film Queen of Diamonds. Decadently embellished, the set is composed of bodysuit and full-length cover-up. The sleeveless bodysuit is crafted from a sheer pale blush pink mesh with a rounded neckline and raw hems at the shoulders and neck. It fastens down the back with a tonal zip. The bodysuit is detailed with appliqué florals. Formed from glistening sequins in rose gold and black, the flowering vines climb up the front and back of the bodysuit, somewhat preserving the wearer’s modesty. Below the waistband, black sequins form an opaque background to the florals and cover the body entirely. At the side of the waist, the rose gold vine appliqués hang from the body, rippling with movement, as though they are growing around the body. The bodysuit is lined with black satin from the waist down.
The decadent, coordinating cover-up is cut extremely generously. It has very wide batwing sleeves and hangs open at the front, cascading like a waterfall down and around the body. The raw-hemmed fabric is incredibly detailed; a black sequin background covered in rose gold sequin florals with intricate black detailing. The cover-up is very long, meaning that it flows out behind the wearer as a long, theatrical train, puddling on the floor around the wearer. It is unlined. It has no fastenings.
These attention-grabbing pieces are in excellent condition, particularly for an ensemble of such intricate embellishment and may never have been worn. The retail tag, minus VAT, is over £9k.
